When website measurement is enabled, we use a random first-party identifier stored in your browser so we can see which visits came from a particular campaign, offer, or link. That identifier is a long random string — it does not contain your name, phone, email, customer ID, precise location, or any other information that identifies you as a person.
Alongside it we may keep the ordinary campaign context that came with your visit — for example, the referring website, UTM parameters, and Google Ads click identifiers (GCLID, GBRAID, WBRAID) and Google’s standard ValueTrack fields when they appear on the URL. This lets us understand what is bringing people to the salon.
If you later book, call, text, or claim an offer through the site, your visit may be associated with the record you intentionally created — but only through information you have voluntarily provided at that point. Anonymous events that were recorded earlier are not retroactively rewritten as if we knew your identity from the start.
The random browser identifier is refreshed after long periods of inactivity (about 180 days) and rotated on an absolute schedule (about 365 days). When it rotates, previously recorded events keep their original context — we do not rewrite history.
You can turn website measurement off at any time by opening Privacy Choices from the footer of any of our customer-facing pages and switching “Help us understand visits” to Off. When measurement is Off:
Turning measurement back on is prospective: future visits may be measured again, but the period during which measurement was Off is not reconstructed after the fact. Missing measurement remains missing.
When configured, the website may send standard measurement events to Google (Google Analytics or Google Ads) so we can understand campaign performance in our own dashboards. If you later choose to connect a Google Business Profile or Meta account inside our staff portal, we access performance metrics for those business pages only, using tokens that can be revoked at any time from the staff portal. Some of our pages also use a product-analytics tool (PostHog) to understand how the site is used; the same Privacy Choices switch controls it — while measurement is Off, PostHog does not measure public browsing on this browser.
Records you intentionally create — appointment bookings, messages you send to us, calls, deal claims, and other transactional records — are kept for legitimate business purposes. Turning off measurement does not delete those records, because you created them intentionally.
You may request deletion of your customer records at any time by contacting us. Disconnecting third-party integrations immediately removes stored access tokens. For any privacy-related question, contact Upscale Nails & Spa through the front desk or the staff portal contact form.
